Punjab TET Syllabus / PSTET Paper I & Paper II Syllabus Punjab Teacher Eligibility Test :

Punjab TET Syllabus

Punjab TET will annually conduct by Govt. of Punjab. A lot of Candidates will take this exam for weighting recruitment in teacher. Punjab TET will take in two parts.

(i) Paper I (Class – I to V)

There shall be only one paper. All questions will be short type Questions, One question carrying one mark with four alternatives. The total number of questions for this test is 150 and time duration is two and half hour.

Paper I – Structure and Content (All Compulsory)


Child Development and Pedagogy                    30 MCQs      30 Marks

Language I (Punjabi)                                           30 MCQs      30 Marks

Language II (English)                                           30 MCQs      30 Marks

Mathematics                                                         30 MCQs      30 Marks

Environmental Studies                                         30 MCQs      30 Marks

Child Development and Pedagogy : The test items on Child Development and Pedagogy will point on educational psychology of teaching and learning relevant to the age group of 6-11 years. They will focus on understanding the characteristics and needs of diverse learners, interaction with learners and the attributes and qualities of a good facilitator of learning.

Language I (Hindi) : Point on the proficiencies related to the medium of instruction.

Language II (English) : Point on the elements of language, communication and comprehension abilities.

Mathematics & Environmental Studies : Point on the concepts, problem solving abilities and pedagogical understanding of the subjects.

(ii) Paper II (Class –VI to VII)

There shall be only one paper. All questions will be short type Questions, One question carrying one mark with four alternatives. The total number of questions for this test is 150 and time duration is two and half hour.

Paper II – Structure and Content

Child Development and Pedagogy (Compulsory)       30 MCQs      30 Marks

Language I (Punjabi) (Compulsory)                             30 MCQs      30 Marks

Language II (English)   (Compulsory)                           30 MCQs      30 Marks

*For Mathematics and Science Teacher                         60 MCQs      60 Marks

*For Social Studies teacher:                                           60 MCQs      60 Marks

*Science & Mathematics sectors questions pattern will furnish below –

Child Development and Pedagogy : The test items on Child Development and Pedagogy will point on educational psychology of teaching and learning, relevant to the age group of 11-14 years. They will focus on understanding the characteristics, needs and psychology of diverse learners, interaction with learners and the attributes and qualities of a good facilitator of learning..

Mathematics and Science : Basically, Questions will be related to how to ensure the successful transfer of learning and the understanding of the use of different methods in different classroom situations.

Social Studies : Through this paper, knowledge of their surroundings, their skills to develop the understanding of various current issues and their applicability and how to make better use of available resources will be tested.
