In the elections to Thane Municipal Corporation , Shiv Sena is leading registering victory at 43 seats out of total 131 whereas Bharatiya Janata Party won 17 seats. Except Mumbai and Thane, BJP is leading at all remaining municipal corporations-namely Nagpur, Nashik, Pune, Pimpri Chinchwad, Amravati, Akola and Solapur.
